eBooks

After finishing The Walking Dead TV Series, I wanted to read the comics to see what differences there were. I was able to find all 193 of them in .cbr file format. I needed to find a way to read them both when I was at home and away. I use Calibre in an LXC container to run as my content server, and Calibre-Web running in Docker on my NAS to use as my front end. The documentation for Calibre running as a server is not clear, so it took some extra reading to figure it out. I was able to publish books.thechimchim.com to the outside world using my reverse proxy. Once I had it published, I was able to point two different apps from my phone to Calibre-Web’s OPDS interface. For comics, I am using Panels, and for ebooks, I am using Yomu. Both seem to work well and link back to the Calibre database. Next on the agenda is Pi-Hole.
